Do You Smell Gas?
If you should think you can smell the odor or propane in or around your home please treat this potentially hazardous situation as an emergency so it can be handled swiftly and safely. Take the following steps as listed to ensure your safety. Once notified, we will dispatch a manager or technician to your residence to ascertain that a leak, exists and a plan of action to repair , verify its once again leak free and return to service. Here's what you should DO if you smell gas:
Leave the Area Immediately and Report the Leak: 641.220.9927
1. No Flames or Sparks!
Immediately put out all smoking materials, and any other devices or appliances with open flames.
Do not Operate: Lights, Appliances, Telephones and Cell Phones
2. Leave The Area Immediately!
Get everyone out of the building or area where you suspect gas is leaking.
3. Shut Of The Gas!
Turn off the main gas supply valve on your propane tank if it is safe to do so. To close the valve, turn it to the right (clockwise).
4. Report The Leak
From a neighbor's home or other location call Johnson Oil and LP right away!

5. Do Not Return To The Building or Area
Do not return to the area until Johnson Oil, an emergency responder or qualified service technician determines it is safe to do so.
6. Get Your System Checked
Before you attempt to use any of your propane appliances, Johnson Oil must complete a leak check on your entire system to ensure it is leak free and safe to put back into service.
